Imperial Theatre Financial Role

About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Bookkeeper to manage and maintain financial records for Imperial Theatre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, creating and analyzing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Management: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  • Payment Processing: Process payments and invoices, ensuring all expenses and income are properly recorded and coded.
  • Payroll Management: Manage the organization's payroll, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Bank Statement Reconciliation: Reconcile monthly bank statements, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Budgeting: Assist the Executive Director and Board of Directors in creating and maintaining the organization's annual budget.
  • Audit Coordination: Work closely with external auditors to ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date for the annual audit.
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial records and procedures are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions.
  • Verify and record transactions.
  • Order office supplies and manage petty cash.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial and employee information.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Stay up-to-date with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation.
  • Provide support to management and assist with other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or in financial services.
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Experience with QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Time-management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • A team player with a sense of humor and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A healthy appreciation of the performing arts is an asset.
  • Bondable.
