About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child and Family Therapist to join our team at The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families. As a key member of our counselling team, you will work closely with children, families, and caregivers to provide evidence-based therapy and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, working collaboratively with families and caregivers to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to families and caregivers on mental health, parenting, and relationship skills.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices and research.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Registration with the relevant professional association (e.g., Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with children, families, and caregivers in a therapeutic setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, and trauma-informed care.
