Medical Director, Family Practice Division

The Medical Lead and Division Head, Family Practice, West Coast General Hospital plays a pivotal role in overseeing the In-Patient MRP Program at West Coast General Hospital. This co-leadership position comes with both operational and departmental governance responsibilities.
The Medical Lead works collaboratively with others, including patients, to foster teamwork and continuous quality improvement services at West Coast General Hospital. Reporting to the Interim Site Medical Director for WCGH, the position is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
Main Responsibilities:- Leadership: Co-leads activities to ensure physicians and staff work together to monitor and improve service delivery, linking with Division Heads and Chiefs of Staff to address physician governance matters.
- Operations & Quality: Implements processes to engage physicians and staff in continuous quality improvement, monitors team budget and performance, and initiates investigations of team-related PSLS and PCQO events.
- Change Management: Acts as a change management champion to engage and support physicians and staff through change.
- Informatics: Leads team activities to advance technology and data use to improve service delivery using the electronic health records (EHR) in collaboration with the Quality Systems team.
- Planning: Assesses, monitors, and anticipates team resource needs, working with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.
