Medical Director, Family Practice Division

The Medical Lead and Division Head, Family Practice, West Coast General Hospital plays a pivotal role in overseeing the In-Patient MRP Program at our esteemed institution. This leadership position involves a collaborative approach, working closely with the Interim Site Medical Director and other key stakeholders to drive continuous quality improvement and enhance teamwork among physicians and staff.
Main Responsibilities:- Leadership: Co-lead activities to foster a cohesive team environment, ensuring physicians and staff work together to monitor and improve service delivery.
- Operations & Quality: Implement processes and structures to engage physicians and staff in continuous quality improvement of service delivery, monitor team budget and performance, and make course corrections as needed.
- Change Management: Act as a change management champion to engage and support physicians and staff through change.
- Informatics: Lead team activities that advance technology and data use to improve service delivery using the electronic health records (EHR) in collaboration with the Quality Systems team.
- Planning: Assess, monitor, and anticipate team resource needs, working with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.
- Credentialing and Privileging: Oversee the credentialing and privileging process for physicians and staff.
- Individual Practitioner Standards of Care: Ensure that individual practitioners meet the highest standards of care.
- Professional Development: Foster a culture of ongoing learning and professional development among physicians and staff.
- Professional Behavior: Promote a culture of respect, empathy, and professionalism among physicians and staff.
- Medical Workforce Planning and Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain top medical talent.
