Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Coordinator to join our team at McLean Hospital. As a key member of our patient services team, you will be responsible for coordinating patient schedules, maintaining accurate medical records, and providing exceptional support to our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Patient Schedules: Schedule tests, exams, and procedures, and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed and filed accurately.
  • Maintain Accurate Medical Records: Assemble and maintain patient medical records, ensuring that all necessary information is complete and up-to-date.
  • Provide Administrative Support: Assist with ordering supplies, processing patient charges, and maintaining accurate petty cash systems.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel in a positive, supportive, and courteous manner.
  • Contribute to a Positive Work Environment: Participate in orienting new staff, respond to emergency situations, and contribute to the efficient operations of the unit.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree preferred, or at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to work efficiently under pressure, and EPIC or similar clinical information systems experience preferred.
  • Qualifications: Basic computer skills, ability to complete electronic medical records training, and demonstrate 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire.
