Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team at William Osler Health System. As a Registered Nurse in Oncology, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients with cancer and their families, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Collaborate with the inter-professional healthcare team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical histories, and laboratory results.
- Develop and implement education programs for patients and families on cancer treatment, management, and prevention.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing, with a focus on chemotherapy administration and patient education.
- Certification in Oncology Nursing Canada (COCN) is required.
- Provincial standardized chemotherapy and biotherapy courses are mandatory.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of oncology nursing practices, including chemotherapy administration, pain management, and symptom control.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an inter-professional team to achieve patient-centered care.
