About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planner to join our team at Scotiabank's Prince Arthur Branch. As a Financial Planner, you will play a key role in developing and deepening client relationships by providing high-quality advice and service within the mass affluent market.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Client Relationship Development: Focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing personalized financial planning advice and solutions to help them meet their unique goals.
  2. Investment Sales and New Client Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, establishing relationships with prospects and clients within the assigned market area.
  3. Business Development: Promote the development and sustainable growth of proprietary investment business in the assigned market area by conducting in-depth reviews, exhibiting a natural curiosity to uncover and solve for client needs, and demonstrating self-motivation and a goal-oriented mindset.
  4. Client Engagement and Education: Foster strong engagement with clients, educating them on investment and retirement planning strategies, and delivering expert advice to help them achieve their financial goals.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Exercise a collaborative approach when dealing with peers, clients, and partners, building relationships and providing a great client experience.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Experience in financial planning and investment sales is preferred.
  2. Designations: Successfully completed (or working towards) the IQPF designation within Quebec, and accredited mutual funds professional in good standing with CIRO licensing requirements.
  3. Language Skills: Bilingualism in French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with English and French-speaking clients.
  4. Self-Motivation and Entrepreneurial Spirit: Ability to work independently as a self-motivated entrepreneur with minimal supervision.
  5. Market Knowledge: Knowledgeable of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and the regulatory environment.
