The University of British Columbia (UBC) is seeking a visionary academic leader to serve as the Director of the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA) within the Faculty of Applied Science. As a key member of the Faculty's leadership team, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for academic leadership and administration in the School.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership and vision for the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the School's mission and goals
- Lead and manage change in a university setting
- Recruit and mentor excellent faculty
- Advocate for the School's interests and priorities
The successful candidate will hold a terminal degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Design and have a distinguished record in teaching and research. They will also have experience leading and managing change in a university setting, demonstrated leadership abilities, and proven skills in management, communication, consensus-building, advocacy, and strategic planning.
