Director of YMCA Camp Kitchikewana

About the Role:
The Director of YMCA Camp Kitchikewana is a key leadership position responsible for the overall operation of the camp. This includes managing a team of staff, overseeing daily camp activities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of staff to deliver programs and services that meet the needs of campers and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve camp operations, programs, and services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including health and safety, child protection, and environmental regulations.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, community groups, and partners.
- Develop and manage budgets, including operational and capital expenditures.
- Collaborate with the General Manager of Camping and Outdoor Education to develop and implement YMCA philanthropic efforts.
- Recruit, train, and supervise seasonal staff, including lifeguards, counselors, and support staff.
- Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to attract campers and stakeholders.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and services, including outdoor education, leadership development, and recreational activities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Recreation and Leisure, Outdoor Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of supervisory experience in an overnight camp setting.
- Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED defibrillator training.
- Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard certification.
- G driver's license and operational vehicle.
- Small Drinking Water System certification.
- OCA Marine Module or Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) certification.
- Understanding of YMCA Camping Quality Recommended Practices and OCA Standards.
