Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Architectural Lab Planner to join our team. This role will involve working directly with clients, scientists, researchers, and end-users to develop laboratory planning strategies, providing creative solutions, and managing projects from initial planning through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop laboratory planning strategies at all levels of detail, including new construction and renovations, in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- Offer and support technical design and detailing decisions that align with project goals, considering factors such as cost, construction, sustainability, and other project requirements.
- Provide or follow verbal and written instructions to revise, develop, and produce plans, elevations, and details as needed.
- Direct document production in accordance with project-specific checklists, AECOM standards, and QA/QC standards.
- Promote firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability.
- Manage day-to-day project and client activities for laboratory projects from initial planning through construction.
- Develop and implement market-driven business strategies to drive growth and excellence in laboratory planning services.
- Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to drive business development and growth.
- Support the development of sustainability, environmental, social impact, urban design, and resiliency planning initiatives within the science and research sector and social infrastructure.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have a University Degree in a related field of study and at least six years of relevant experience in laboratory planning. Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in laboratory planning, with a focus on creative solutions and technical design.
- LEED AP Neighborhood accreditation or willingness to obtain within one year.
- PMP certification or willingness to obtain.
