On Side Restoration is seeking skilled restoration professionals to join our dedicated team. If you have a background in restoration and a passion for assisting individuals affected by property damage due to various disasters, this could be the opportunity for you. Role Overview: General Repair Technician (GRT)

As a General Repair Technician at On Side, you will play a crucial role in the restoration process, working diligently to return properties to their pre-disaster condition. Utilizing a diverse skill set, GRTs are essential in making clients feel as though a miracle has occurred in their time of need.

Key Responsibilities:

The versatile GRT is proficient in a variety of tasks, including:

  • Repairing wooden structures of all types
  • Framing
  • Drywall installation, mudding, sanding, and finishing
  • Painting with brushes and rollers (including walls, ceilings, and trim)
  • Ceiling installation, knockdown, and texturing
  • Insulation and vapor barrier installation (knowledge of BC codes is beneficial)
  • Exhibiting a positive attitude and completing all assigned tasks
  • Installation of doors, trim, moldings, and baseboards
  • Hardware and cabinetry installation
  • Managing rebuild claims from initiation to completion

Qualifications:

The ideal GRT candidate possesses a proactive mindset and a range of skills, including:

  • Experience in construction settings
  • Proficiency with tools and their applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
  • A focus on safety
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Proficiency in English communication

Additional Skills That Are Advantageous:

  • Skilled trades certification (Carpenter, Painter, Cabinetmaker)
  • IICRC certification with a focus on restoration
  • WHMIS certification
  • First Aid certification

Due to the nature of our work, a rotating schedule for 24/7 on-call duties is a requirement.
