The Grounds Guys of Barrie is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Landscape Extras Team Lead. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing landscape maintenance work at high levels of quality and service. You will exemplify our code of values, showing respect and courtesy to all customers and employees. You will be self-motivated, thrive in fast-moving environments, and be able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines. You will have at least 5 years of landscaping experience and proven communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers. Depending on qualifications and work performance, summer staff may be offered a position for winter with snow removal. Your responsibilities will include performing landscape "Extras" such as hand garden weeding, planting of annuals, perennials, shrubs, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, trimming, and pruning, garden bed creation and planting, sod installations. You will operate a variety of mechanical and hand equipment including bed edgers, blowers, dump trailers, pruners, line trimmers, chain saws, compact loaders, and tillers. You will also perform landscape enhancement activities such as mulch application, plantings, topsoil application, lawn seeding, and sod installation. You will address clients' questions, comments, and concerns or refer clients to the Team Leader as appropriate. You will assist with equipment maintenance and repair. You will also perform other duties as required. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma/GED (or current student status), 5 years of experience in the field or related, a valid G driver's license with a clean driver's abstract, a background check, and own reliable transportation to the shop. You will be able to work days, weekends, early morning, and early evening, and be willing to work occasional overtime. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to waist level and perform all other physical requirements associated with this position. This is a seasonal job with approximate working dates from April 15 to November 30. We are actively interviewing for this position.
