Position Summary

We are currently in search of exceptional talent to enhance our Buildings division, focusing on innovative projects within the healthcare, education, hospitality, recreational, entertainment, retail, commercial office, mixed-use, multi-family residential, and light industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Specialist 2, reporting to the Quality Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating pre-installation meetings with subcontractors and suppliers before the commencement of new work.
  • Ensuring the effective execution of the Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP) by all stakeholders on project sites.
  • Regularly updating and implementing the Inspection and Test Plan(s) (ITP).
  • Conducting site inspections for self-performed scopes of work.
  • Performing random field verifications of subcontractor quality control measures.
  • Participating in field inspections and testing conducted by third-party laboratories or consultants.
  • Managing and monitoring the Deficiency Management Process, including the initiation of Field Surveillance Reports (FSR), Corrective Action Reports (CAR), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
  • Reviewing FSRs, CARs, and NCRs based on occurrence frequency and severity.
  • Assisting in the quality orientation of new personnel on project sites.
  • Monitoring deficiencies reported by clients, consultants, or third-party inspections.
  • Documenting Quality Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data for the project.
  • Engaging in the Testing and Commissioning process.
  • Ensuring all quality requirements are fulfilled during project handover.
  • Assisting in the Tender Quality Assessment process with estimators during the tender phase.
  • Conducting Project Quality Risk Assessments (PQRA) upon project contract award.
  • Supporting the development of Project Specific Quality Plans (PSQP) with contributions from project team members.
  • Coordinating the creation of Project Specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) with input from team members and subcontractors.
  • Incorporating risks identified in the Tender Quality Risk Assessment (TQA) and PQRA into the ITP.
  • Identifying applicable quality inspection forms during the ITP process and ensuring subcontractors review them.
  • Facilitating preconstruction start-up meetings with subtrades and suppliers to communicate project quality requirements.
  • Developing training plans and providing on-site training regarding PSQP requirements.
  • Requesting quality plans and inspection forms from subcontractors and suppliers.
Qualifications
  • Trade experience or certifications; a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge in quality-related areas (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, CWB), relevant legislation, auditing, and data analysis.
  • Ability to make informed recommendations and proactive decisions based on technical expertise.
  • Experience in anticipating client needs and managing risks and claims with minimal supervision.
  • Solid presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to quality and safety, with the ability to assess project-related processes.
  • Effective leadership skills, capable of addressing challenges, solving problems, and motivating team members while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software.
Compensation
  • Salary range: $69,800 - $87,200, commensurate with education and experience.
