LOCATION

Situated approximately 100 kilometers east of Toronto, NHH is a dynamic community hospital providing a comprehensive range of acute, post-acute, outpatient, and diagnostic services. We serve a growing population of over 60,000 residents across diverse urban and rural areas, employing around 750 staff members and benefiting from a supportive network of physicians, midwives, and volunteers.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Program Manager, the RPN collaborates within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver nursing care to assigned patients or groups of patients.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Required

Must be currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario Hold a current B.C.L.S. certification CC1 certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months Capability to perform additional nursing skills as necessary Strong ability to prioritize workload Effective communication skills with the interprofessional team, patients, and their families Adherence to safe work practices and maintenance of a healthy work environment through participation in educational programs and compliance with health and safety policies Physical capability to lift, pull, push, carry, reach, and support patients Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive bending Capacity to focus on complex instructions in a fast-paced environment Above-average written and verbal communication skills, including active listening Ability to work collaboratively as a team member while maintaining positive interpersonal relationships Availability to work 2-3 shifts per week and 2 out of 4 weekends

ASSETS

Completion or willingness to complete the Coronary Care Course Previous experience in a medical/surgical unit

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Successful candidates must provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check completed within the last year. This requirement must be fulfilled within the first sixty (60) days of employment.

Additionally, successful candidates are required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process, which includes submitting an up-to-date immunization record to comply with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Northumberland Hills Hospital enforces a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
