Job Title: Cardiology Technologist
Job Summary:
The University Health Network is seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient identification, preparation, and safety to ensure accuracy prior to examination, and maintain confidentiality
- Execute all cardiac testing procedures, including recording ECGs, stress testing, gas analysis, and ambulatory BP monitoring, in alignment with CSCT standards
- Work collaboratively with physicians to provide patient intake medical assessments
- Collect and document patient information in the electronic patient record (Epic) efficiently and accurately
- Analyze tests to create summarized preliminary reports for physicians
- Confirm all quality control assessments as required
- Ensure emergency equipment is ready for use at all times
- Work in alignment with best practices, related policies, and the health and safety legislation, and consider all reasonable precautions
- Comply with UHN's standards and procedures for appropriate equipment maintenance
- Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of equipment and instrument performance
- Support learners in the clinical environment
Requirements:
- 2 years of related experience preferred
- Graduate of a Cardiology program recognized by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT)
- Certification with CSCT preferred
- Current BCLS certificate
- Demonstrated ability to interpret ECGs, identifying cardiac arrhythmias, and electrocardiographic signs of myocardial ischemia/infarction on ECGs
- Experience working with the EPIC system is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Committed to continuous education and training
- Proven problem-solving and efficiencies in decision-making skills
- A friendly, empathetic, and respectful demeanor, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
