Job Title: Cardiology Technologist

Job Summary:

The University Health Network is seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient identification, preparation, and safety to ensure accuracy prior to examination, and maintain confidentiality
  • Execute all cardiac testing procedures, including recording ECGs, stress testing, gas analysis, and ambulatory BP monitoring, in alignment with CSCT standards
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to provide patient intake medical assessments
  • Collect and document patient information in the electronic patient record (Epic) efficiently and accurately
  • Analyze tests to create summarized preliminary reports for physicians
  • Confirm all quality control assessments as required
  • Ensure emergency equipment is ready for use at all times
  • Work in alignment with best practices, related policies, and the health and safety legislation, and consider all reasonable precautions
  • Comply with UHN's standards and procedures for appropriate equipment maintenance
  • Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of equipment and instrument performance
  • Support learners in the clinical environment

Requirements:

  • 2 years of related experience preferred
  • Graduate of a Cardiology program recognized by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT)
  • Certification with CSCT preferred
  • Current BCLS certificate
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret ECGs, identifying cardiac arrhythmias, and electrocardiographic signs of myocardial ischemia/infarction on ECGs
  • Experience working with the EPIC system is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Committed to continuous education and training
  • Proven problem-solving and efficiencies in decision-making skills
  • A friendly, empathetic, and respectful demeanor, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
