About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team and play a vital role in the development and enhancement of our IFRS 17 Engine. As a key member of our squad, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical specifications and facilitating collaboration between business, IT, and quality assurance teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute month-end validation of IFRS 17 results and present variance analysis to business stakeholders.
  • Perform production defect root cause analysis and handover process to IT teams.
  • Support the Product Owner in prioritizing work and handling backlogs.
  • Assess test strategy and review test results for production defects.
  • Support SAS functional requirements workshops and understand design and solution of project deliverables.
  • Assist with project impact analysis, effort estimates, and providing defect details to the Product Owner.
  • Creation and execution of custom SQL queries to extract SAS reports for ad-hoc requests.
  • Drive initiatives to align, streamline, and automate processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of deliverables based on changing needs of internal and external partners.
  • Build solid, reusable, and thorough system documentation for stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, mathematics, economics, business management, accounting, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Accounting background and IFRS 17 experience.
  • SAS, Proc SQL, or equivalent skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, power pivot, conditional formulas, and lookups.
  • Ability to communicate technical terminologies in non-technical language and vice versa.
  • Strong analytical skills, insight, and discipline.
  • Leadership skills, team player, independent, and efficient.
  • Ability to interact with various people at all levels of the organization, including management and external contributors.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerQuery) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and IT infrastructure (Data Warehouses, SAS, ERP, etc.) is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge in the insurance field is an asset.
  • Project experiences in Scrum mode is an asset.
  • No Canadian work experience required, but authorization to work in Canada required.
