Job Summary

The Data Clerk, Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist is responsible for the intake and review of data from the Cardiac Surgery and Structural Heart Programs. This includes procedural onlisting, offlisting, and capturing complications in the CoreHealth and Southlake database.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile data weekly to ensure the accuracy of the data submitted to CoreHealth database.
  • Collaborate with Coordinators from the Cardiac Surgery, Structural Heart, and Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) Cath Lab to manage waitlist data.
  • Work closely with the Cardiac Surgery Manager to review, interpret, and report data to the Cardiac Surgery CST and Quality Committees.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Medical Terminology Certificate
  • Diploma in Medical Administration
  • Two years of clerical duties in a healthcare environment
  • Experience in collection of data from chart reviews and data entry
  • Preparation of various detailed statistical reports
  • Proficiency in computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and database management)
  • Ability to set priorities and manage timelines
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and functions effectively within a team
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Analysis and problem assessment
  • Innovative and willing to learn
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Individual leadership skills
