Job Summary:

Island Health is seeking a skilled Physiatrist to join our Division of Rehabilitation Medicine team. As a Physiatrist, you will play a crucial role in providing consultative services to patients with neurological diseases, post-traumatic impairments, and amputation rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultative services to patients with complex medical conditions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation plans
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and develop treatment plans to improve patient outcomes
  • Work closely with other medical specialists, including surgeons, psychiatrists, and diagnostic services
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services

Requirements:

  • MD or equivalent medical degree
  • Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Experience in rehabilitation medicine, preferably in a hospital-based setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
