Job Summary:

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant III to join our Clinical Laboratories team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to laboratory staff, including data entry, record-keeping, and communication with healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of laboratory samples, including labeling, packaging, and shipping.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of laboratory results, including test orders, patient information, and quality control data.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including accreditation standards and quality assurance protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as medical administration or laboratory technology.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting, with a focus on administrative support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time (.6 FTE) position, working a variable schedule to meet the needs of the laboratory. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Salary Range: $26.588 to $27.221 per hour
