JOB SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Agricultural Operations Supervisor is to assist the Farm Manager in managing daily agricultural activities. This encompasses ensuring the effective execution of all tasks related to cultivation, planting, irrigation, chemical application, and harvesting. The position involves directing and overseeing these operations while keeping precise records of production, income, and expenditures. The Agricultural Operations Supervisor will also operate farming machinery and provide support to team members as necessary to maintain seamless operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and Supervise Agricultural Activities: Oversee the planning and execution of all cultivation, planting, irrigation, chemical application, and harvesting tasks.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously assess agricultural operations to ensure adherence to best practices and productivity benchmarks.
- Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of production metrics, income, and expenses. Manage data within agricultural software systems.
- Operational Support: Operate agricultural machinery and equipment as needed. Provide hands-on assistance in the field and cover for team members when required.
- Communication and Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Farm Manager and agricultural team to ensure effective communication and workflow.
- Inventory Management: Assist in overseeing inventory levels of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural supplies.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all agricultural activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Agricultural Operations Supervisor will frequently liaise with the farming crew to coordinate tasks. Regular communication with the Farm Manager and Agronomist is essential, along with occasional interactions with office personnel and other managers.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field is preferred.
- Experience in the agriculture and farming sector is required.
TRAINING:
- On-the-job training will be provided as necessary.
- Additional training may also be offered as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Agricultural Operations Supervisor typically works 50 hours per week but may be required to work additional hours during peak seasons. The schedule may vary to meet organizational needs, particularly during busy agricultural periods. The role includes both office and fieldwork, with frequent exposure to varying environmental conditions.
BENEFITS:
Full-time, permanent employees in this position are eligible for company benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance benefits after three months of employment. A company-paid pension plan is available after one year of employment, along with potential additional benefits.
REMUNERATION:
Compensation for this position is based on experience and performance. Employees accrue 4% vacation, which may be taken as paid time off or paid out upon request after three months of employment.
