Job Title: Community Support Worker

This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the life of an individual with a wonderful personality. As a Community Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and companionship to this person, helping them to maintain their independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to the individual
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as grocery shopping and meal preparation
  • Accompany the individual on outings and activities, such as drives to local landmarks and dining out at restaurants
  • Help the individual to maintain their home and engage in household chores
  • Communicate effectively with the individual and their support team
Requirements:
  • Driver's license (Class 5)
  • Minimum 1 year related experience working in the community living sector or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
  • Mental health experience would be an asset
  • Reliable, calm and confident presence, good listener, and demonstrated knowledge of practical skills in supporting people to observe and resolve conflicts in the community
Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, with shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Shifts can be divided between 1-2 suitable candidates if they can only fill partial schedule.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have a strong commitment to supporting the individual's independence and dignity.
