Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Medicine Hat Carry Drive. As a key member of our clinical laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure, handle, process, dispatch, and test specimens in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform various laboratory procedures and report results with attention to detail and precision.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless laboratory operations and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Recent phlebotomy and ECG experience within the last 2 years.
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs on a frequent basis and work independently within a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on client services and public relations.
  • Ability to perform repetitive duties efficiently and accurately, and recognize and assist patients in distress.
  • Flexibility to meet operational requirements, including hours and location of work.
  • Proficiency in data entry and working knowledge of laboratory software and systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a mobile collection's environment.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory information systems and software.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism, with a focus on maintaining high standards of client care.
