About the Role
The Assisted Living Clinical Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for coordinating home support services and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to assess and meet the unique needs of each resident.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of home support workers to deliver exceptional care and services to residents.
- Assess and develop Personal Service Plans (PSPs) that meet the individual needs of each resident.
- Liaise with health authorities and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care delivered by home support workers and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with other leaders to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote resident-centered care.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Perform other duties as required to support the effective operation of the community.
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate of an approved program for Practical Nurses and holds a current full scope License with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Knowledge and understanding of the Assisted Living Regulations, Assisted Living Registry, and Community Care and Assisted Living Act.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Two years' recent experience as a practicing LPN, preferably in Assisted Living or long term care setting that included the distribution of medications.
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to effectively interact with the various individuals involved in providing holistic care in a flexible resident-focused environment.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead others in the accomplishment of a task.
- Knowledge and experience with managing others, employment practices, and health and safety practices and policies.
- Must be in good health, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand and walk as required to perform the duties of the position.
Special Requirements:
- Must be willing to work the hours necessary to ensure the effective operation of the community.
- Must have the capacity to deal with physical and mental impairment, death, and dying.
- Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations.
