Pension Administrator

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly skilled Pension Administrator to join our team. As a Pension Administrator, you will be responsible for the accurate and effective application of pension arrangements for eligible individuals, ensuring clear and concise communications and integrity of the related processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer pension arrangements, including pension calculations, production of benefits statements, and coordination of pension option decisions.
- Communicate with employees, retirees, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders on a timely basis, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Develop and maintain presentations, written materials, and other communication channels to support understanding of pension arrangements.
- Collaborate with the Pension team and other HR teams to ensure all communication material is current, accurate, and understandable by stakeholders.
- Provide effective customer service and support to other areas of HR, including junior members of the Pension team, and the University community.
- 4-year post-secondary qualification or equivalent education and experience.
- Formal education in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science is preferred.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) designation, or working towards, is preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience administering defined benefit pension plan.
- 2-3 years of experience in the Higher Education sector preferred.
