Position Overview
We are currently seeking a qualified Intermediate Environmental Consultant to join our Reclamation and Remediation Team as well as the Operational Compliance Team. This role is based in Calgary, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Formulating and executing reclamation and remediation strategies for abandoned upstream oil and gas locations.
  2. Managing the execution of assessment, remediation, and reclamation initiatives.
  3. Supervising spill assessments, containment, recovery, and remediation operations.
  4. Coordinating and overseeing heavy machinery and third-party contractors as necessary.
  5. Assisting in budget management, project tracking, and providing recommendations for regulatory closure.
  6. Collaborating with clients and team members to conduct Environmental Site Assessments (Phase 1 ESAs, Stage 1 PSIs, Phase 2 ESAs, Stage 2 PSIs), vegetation assessments, groundwater monitoring, and reclamation evaluations.
  7. Working with the Technical Resource Group to create site-specific remediation protocols.
  8. Building and maintaining relationships with landowners, client operations, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  9. Cooperating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution.
  10. Preparing various technical documents and reports, including DSA RoO's, reclamation inspection reports, Phase 2 ESA reports, and remediation documentation.
  11. Providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.
  12. Supporting senior staff as needed.
Qualifications
  1. At least 4 years of consulting experience in remediation, reclamation, or environmental science.
  2. Proficient in conducting field assessments in Alberta and British Columbia.
  3. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for upstream oil and gas in both provinces.
  4. Experience with various types of agricultural and heavy machinery.
  5. Skills in vegetation and weed identification across diverse landscapes.
  6. Willingness to travel and work in the field as project demands dictate.
  7. A Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science or a related field is preferred.
  8. Eligibility for registration with a recognized professional organization.
  9. Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data management.
  11. Valid driver's license required.
  12. A collaborative team player with strong organizational skills.
  13. Able to work outdoors in various environmental conditions.
