Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Consultant/Engineer to join our dynamic team at SLR Consulting (Canada). This role is integral to our mission of providing exceptional environmental and sustainability services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in comprehensive environmental projects, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation initiatives, and ongoing environmental monitoring.
  • Lead field operations that involve sampling and assessing soil, groundwater, soil vapour, and surface water, as well as managing decommissioning and remediation efforts.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports.
  • Mentor junior staff in fieldwork and project management while benefiting from guidance by senior professionals.
  • Assist project managers with planning, coordination, and tracking of project schedules and budgets.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical and financial proposals.

Qualifications

  • A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in contaminated site management, including leading environmental assessments and remediation programs.
  • Experience with PFAS sampling is considered an asset.
  • A strong passion for fieldwork and the flexibility to work away from home as needed.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to oil and gas operations and contaminated sites.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in small teams, including in remote environments.
  • Professional designation or eligibility for designation with a recognized professional organization.
  • A valid driver's license for travel to various job sites.
