Job Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is a key role within Komatsu's operations, responsible for leading and mentoring maintenance teams to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment and facilities. This position requires a strong technical background, with expertise in predictive and preventative maintenance, as well as the ability to manage and supervise a team of maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop and implement maintenance plans, ensuring that equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
  • To supervise and direct the maintenance team, providing guidance and support to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • To manage and maintain equipment records, including maintenance schedules, repair histories, and performance metrics.
  • To collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and meets quality standards.
  • To identify and report any safety hazards or concerns, and to work with the EHS team to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • To manage and maintain facilities and grounds, including maintenance of buildings, roads, and other infrastructure.
  • To facilitate communication and collaboration between maintenance personnel and other stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • To work with outside vendors to provide contracted services, including maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment.
  • To progress and support Operational Excellence initiatives, including the implementation of 6S principles and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • To comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including those related to safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.
Requirements
  • College diploma in a relevant field, such as millwright, electrical, or mechanical technology.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a maintenance or technical role, with a strong background in equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Millwright ticket or Journeyman license is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with a strong track record of leading and mentoring teams.
  • Familiarity with repair of manufacturing equipment, including lathes, mills, welding equipment, and paint equipment.
  • Knowledge of machine centers, tools, and their designs, uses, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Experience with SAP or other business-related systems.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings and other structures.
  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment within a production facility or office environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
