About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Production Supervisor to join our team at Magna International. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supervising the activities of production staff, scheduling staff, and ensuring that production levels meet productivity targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise production staff and ensure that all required legislation is met
  • Perform workplace inspections and investigate accidents/incidents
  • Responsible for training new and existing employees and verifying that training is effective
  • Ensure Layered Process Audits (LPA's) are completed daily and work cell production boards are reviewed hourly
  • Correct unsafe acts or conditions and conduct performance appraisals
  • Coach and mentor line leaders and allocate manpower
  • Responsible for the flow of material and quality assurance for parts in their area
  • Handle Non-Conforming Material Report (NMR), corrective action or quality alert when defects are found
  • Ensure equipment and productivity standards are realized and review production schedules to ensure daily customer requirements are met

Requirements

  • Physically capable of doing the job
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate team members to meet targets
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written) and math
  • Computer literate - Microsoft programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form
  • Supervisor's competency
  • Knowledge of all legislative requirements of the OHSA
  • Familiarity with CMI system and scheduling
  • Understanding of IATF 16949 requirements
  • Must have knowledge of the process and equipment in the assigned area
  • Knowledge of Time-and-Attendance Systems
  • Knowledge in WHMIS, Time & Attendance System (ADP), and Lock Out procedures
  • Good organizational skills, ability to work well without supervision
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate activities of production employees
  • Previous automotive production experience is an asset
  • Valid forklift license and ability to operate overhead crane
  • Knowledge of SPC
