**Overview**:
Established in 2008 Specialized Metal Fabricators has become one of the industry's leading manufacturers of architectural products. We are a custom sheet metal fabrication shop. Focusing primarily on the architectural industry we excel at providing quality service and exceptionally quick turnaround times for all projects big or small.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sheet Metal Assembly Supervisor to join our team. The sheet Metal assembly supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This is a key leadership role that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.
**Responsibilities**:
- Interpret engineering drawings and work orders to understand order requirements and ensure that all production activities align with the specified scope of work, in the absence of an ERP system.
- Plan and execute production tasks by utilizing team capabilities,
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the spot welding team, welding team, insulation team, panel assembly team, and fabrication team to ensure optimal productivity and quality.
- Effectively manage team dynamics and foster a cooperative work environment to enhance compliance and responsiveness among workers who may be hesitant to accept leadership.
- Organize workflow to maximize efficiency and continuously propose new methods to improve production processes.
- Coordinate with the shipping and preparation departments to ensure timely dispatch of orders.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards throughout production.
- Oversee routine maintenance of machinery and ensure compliance with daily maintenance protocols.
- Complete pre-dispatch checklists and ensure all operations are completed as required, supporting efforts to implement a shop floor monitoring system.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to the management team.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in metal fabrication, particularly with sheet metal, is highly desirable.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications. Familiarity with metal fabrication processes including welding, cutting, and assembly
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a high-paced production setting, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage staff and interact with other departments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions based on production requirements and operational challenges.
- Knowledge of quality control practices and the ability to enforce these standards consistently.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
**Experience**:
- Sheet Metal Manufacturing: 3 years (preferred)
- Reading Engineering Drawings: 3 years (preferred)
- Shop floor supervision: 3 years (preferred)
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
