Crofton House School is seeking an exceptional English teacher to join our Senior School team. As a member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the growth and development of individual learners through the delivery of our Ivy Compass and Advisory program.
  • Participate in the co-curricular program and contribute to the school's extracurricular activities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education.
Requirements
  • B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or qualification criteria.
  • Relevant university qualifications, such as a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English.
  • Graduate degree, an asset.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current educational practices outlined in the BC Ministry of Education documents.
  • Knowledge of the Harkness method, an asset.
  • Understanding of 'Standards-Based Learning/Assessment', an asset.
  • Experience in an independent school, an asset.
  • Demonstrable awareness of the learning preferences of girls and young women.
  • Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching.
  • Committed to the craft of teaching, best practices, and standards of professional practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to continued professional development and growth.
