Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Site Manager with extensive local experience to oversee the construction phase of significant projects valued at $50 million and above. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in managing field operations for both commercial and residential construction endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and uphold the company's Safety Program to meet or exceed safety and environmental standards.
  • Ensure that construction projects are completed in alignment with the established schedule, budget, and contractual documents.
  • Oversee work execution in accordance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and shop drawings, including managing changes to the work.
  • Make hiring decisions for temporary workers in collaboration with the Project Manager, while directing and enhancing the productivity of all site personnel.
  • Prepare weekly production schedules and look-ahead plans.
  • Address any inadequacies in contracts, plans, and specifications in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Review trade contracts and scopes of work for compliance with project requirements.
  • Evaluate drawings for dimensional accuracy, construction detailing, and overall constructability.
  • Analyze the budget and underlying estimates to understand assumptions and conditions set forth.
  • Coordinate inspections with relevant authorities for routine and occupancy-related assessments.
  • Facilitate and document regular trade meetings, maintaining communication with clients and architects to support construction activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with various departments, project staff, owners, architects, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
  • May oversee multiple teams or projects across various sites, promoting a strong teamwork culture.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction as a Site Manager or in a similar supervisory role.
  • Relevant technical training or industry-related trade certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental protection practices in construction.
  • Strong understanding of current construction methodologies.
  • Ability to guide safe work practices while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Familiarity with construction documents, contracts, costs, and budgets.
  • Proficient in scheduling and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and identify solutions.
  • Capable of recognizing constructability issues and devising solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with scheduling software is a plus.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Red Seal Carpenter (Journeyman) Certificate and Gold Seal accreditation are advantageous.

Work Environment:
This is a site-based position, requiring a strong commitment to safety and quality.
