About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join Scotiabank as a Platform Data Architect, where you will play a critical role in shaping the bank's data governance strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Standard Setting and Taxonomy: Develop and implement standards, taxonomy, and naming conventions for Scotia ServiceNow foundational data, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Platform Data Implementation: Implement platform foundational data in accordance with the Corporate Service Desk Management (CSDM) framework, ensuring seamless integration and data quality.
  • Data Access and Management: Create and manage Data Access Standards and Procedures across all instances, ensuring secure and controlled access to data.
  • Data Request Management: Manage data-related requests for ServiceNow foundational data, ensuring completeness, correctness, and data relationships.
  • IT Business Process Management: Design, document, and manage IT business processes associated with platform foundational data source, creation, management, and retirement.
  • Data Governance and Control: Coordinate and assist with data governance and control requests related to enterprise governance and audit, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • Relationship Management: Coordinate between various owners of platform foundational data areas, ensuring data integrity and relationship management.
  • Test Data Development: Assist DevOps and UAT teams in the development of test data.
Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Report Design and Development: Design, develop, and regularly generate reports to communicate and monitor compliance.
  • Exception Data Analysis: Analyze exception data to identify potential accuracy issues, investigate, and report on issues and remediation options.
  • Control Gap Analysis: Conduct control gap analysis to identify root causes of incorrect data, relationships, and recommend remedial actions.
  • Enhancement Identification: Assist in identifying and defining needed enhancements in foundational data and new categories that would add value to the platform capabilities.
  • Configuration Audits: Reconcile foundational data and assist in conducting configuration audits.
Requirements
  • CSDM Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of CSDM 3.0 and/or 4.0.
  • ITIL Understanding: Excellent understanding of ITIL concepts, with ITIL V.4 Certificate a plus.
  • ServiceNow Experience: Hands-on ServiceNow experience.
  • Data Governance Experience: Experience in data governance.
  • ServiceNow Architecture: ServiceNow architecture experience a plus.
  • Data Lineage and Governance Tools: Very good understanding of data lineage concepts and data governance tools.
  • Monitoring and Configuration Management: Very good knowledge of monitoring, configuration management, SAM, and HAM tools.
  • ServiceNow Integration Hub: Very good knowledge of ServiceNow integration Hub.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Requires a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience and possess problem-solving, analytical, and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer Systems Knowledge: General understanding of other computer systems outside the area of specialty.
  • Non-Technical User Interaction: Ability to work with non-technical users.
  • Education: Requires post-secondary education with a focus on Computer Science or Engineering disciplines.
  • Data Mining and Relational Database Concepts: Good understanding of data mining and relational database concepts.
  • ETL Process: Good understanding of the ETL process.
