We're seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing our diverse fleet of construction equipment.
About the Role- Inspect and service a wide range of construction equipment, including earth-moving equipment, compaction equipment, and aerial equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and make required repairs.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders.
- Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.
- Red Seal Mechanic certification in heavy equipment or truck and transport.
- Minimum 1-2 years of mechanical experience, preferably working on construction equipment.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract.
- A complete set of tools (or willingness to build a complete toolset).
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.
- Flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
