Job Title: Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Black Hand Transport Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment: Identify and diagnose faults and malfunctions in heavy-duty equipment, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Adjust and repair or replace defective parts, ensuring that all work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Order Parts and Maintain Inventory: Source and procure necessary parts and materials, and maintain an organized inventory system.
  • Train and Mentor Apprentices: Share your expertise and knowledge with junior technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance tasks to ensure the continued reliability and performance of our equipment.
Specializations:
  • Diesel Engine Repair: Fuel injection system, exhaust system, cooling system, air conditioning system, lubrication system, engine control system, and installation and alignment of engines and machinery.
  • Mechanical Maintenance and Repair: Mechanical transmissions, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, highway vehicle tires and wheels, differentials, and brake system.
Requirements:
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 5 years or more, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Required certifications for the position.
Work Environment:
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
