Community Engagement and Communication Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Community Engagement:
    Design and execute community engagement initiatives to enhance the visibility of our brand in local areas.
    Forge partnerships with local organizations, charities, and community groups to amplify outreach efforts.
    Organize events, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities to create a positive impact in the communities we serve.
    Work collaboratively with internal teams to identify and respond to community needs and concerns.
    Oversee donation campaigns at store locations.
  2. Communication Management:
    Develop and implement communication strategies to boost the presence of J.D. Irving, Limited within the community.
    Create engaging content for various communication platforms, including social media and internal channels.
    Act as a bridge between the company and community partners.
    Monitor digital platforms and engage with customers to foster positive relationships and promptly address any issues.
  3. Collaboration and Analysis:
    Work closely with marketing, operations, and customer service teams to align community engagement and communication strategies with broader business goals.
    Gather and analyze data related to community involvement and communication effectiveness.
    Prepare regular reports for management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
  1. Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  2. Demonstrated experience in community outreach, event coordination, or similar roles.
  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
  5. Familiarity with social media platforms and online community engagement.
  6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  7. A genuine passion for community involvement and making a meaningful difference.
