Job Title: Post Office Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Post Office Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, selling postal products and services, and sorting and distributing mail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell postal products and services to businesses and individuals
  • Sort and distribute mail to the appropriate classifications
  • Provide customers with information and forms
  • Address delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems thoroughly and quickly

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in business administration
  • Training and/or experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions
  • Understanding of general or post office accounting systems
  • Physical fitness to lift mail containers of up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work

Other Information:

This job posting will be used to fill multiple Post Office Assistant - Term positions for the region of Lac-des-Aigles and its surroundings. The ideal candidate should reside in the community, and applicants within a 50 km radius of the Post Office may be considered as needed. As part of the selection process, selected candidates will be required to complete a security screening process.

Safety Sensitive Positions:

This position may be considered a Safety Sensitive position and has additional requirements under Canada Post's Substance Use Policy.
