About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team at SMS MOTORS. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of metal fabrication and welding services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation and Execution
    • Interpret welding process specifications and execute them with precision.
    • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment to produce high-quality welds.
  • Blueprint Reading and Interpretation
    • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with the fabrication team to achieve production goals and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
  • Work Environment and Physical Capabilities
    • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards.
