About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at SKY CONTRACTING INC. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining buildings, bridges, and other structures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field
  • Permanent employment
  • 40 hours per week
  • English language
