The Culinary Specialist plays an essential role in our community, enhancing the lives of residents and nurturing meaningful connections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare meals and snacks in accordance with provided recipes and menu guidelines.
  • Ensure that food is prepared to meet specific dietary requirements and in appropriate portion sizes.
  • Monitor the quality of food and address any concerns promptly.
  • Take charge of departmental operations when the team leader is unavailable.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new staff members.
  • Participate in in-service meetings and carry out other assigned tasks.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 12 education.
  • Graduation from a recognized culinary program.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in large-scale food preparation.
  • Possession of a valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and Smart Serve certification.
  • A positive demeanor and the ability to achieve community objectives.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in large quantity food preparation within Health, Long Term Care, or Retirement Living environments.
  • Red Seal Certification.
