Job Summary:
The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Sonographer Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing thorough and accurate ultrasound examinations of the heart and supporting structures on inpatients and outpatients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound examinations in accordance with established standards and protocols.
- Assist with transesophageal, stress echo, pericardiocentesis, and contrast studies as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure excellent patient care and satisfaction.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound services.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Echo Sonographer Program with clinical component.
- Successful completion of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound physics examinations.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Active membership in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and the Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Registered Echocardiography Technologist.
