Job Summary:

A highly skilled Echocardiography Specialist is required to join our team at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing thorough and accurate ultrasound examinations of the heart and supporting structures on inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing echocardiography examinations in accordance with the standards of practice from the American Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Assisting with transesophageal, stress echo, pericardiocentesis and contrast examinations.
  • Working at multiple sites, including the Georgian Bay General Hospital, RVH Georgian Drive campus and RVH's offsite campus at the Rizzardo Health & Wellness Centre.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Echo Sonographer Program with a clinical component.
  • Successful completion of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound physics examinations.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Active membership in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and the Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Registered Echocardiography Technologist.

As a Regional Health Centre, our operations run 24/7, and depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
