Department Overview: This role is part of the EnerSys Energy Systems division, which addresses the needs of various markets including telecommunications, cable broadband, industrial sectors, renewable energy, and data centers. Compensation Range: 65,000-81,000

Job Purpose:

We are in search of a proficient Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position will concentrate on supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, resolving manufacturing challenges, and executing continuous improvement projects. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, conducting practical investigations into manufacturing escalations, applying Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles, leading cost reduction initiatives, and overseeing the establishment and validation of new production lines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with cross-functional teams on new product introduction projects.
  • Oversee production transfer activities, including the development of work instructions, design of manufacturing processes and equipment, and provision of manufacturing training.
  • Create build plans for custom and configurable product families utilizing LEAN methodologies.
  • Maintain and develop build documentation and standards.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing flow and reducing product costs.
  • Actively contribute to the Operations team's objectives.
  • Participate in design for manufacturing and assembly reviews, implementing design enhancements and cost-saving measures based on expertise in materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and capabilities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an engineer in an electro-mechanical manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with electrical testing procedures.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical capabilities to address process and quality-related challenges.
  • Additional Skills:
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Project management skills.
  • Technical writing proficiency.
  • Familiarity with wiring processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD or SolidWorks.
  • Background in telecommunications or industrial equipment.
