The Keethanow Group of Businesses Department is currently seeking applications for a Permanent Full-Time position based at Keethanow Liquidation:
ASSISTANT MANAGER
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist upper management in overseeing and coordinating daily store operations.
- Assume the Store Manager's responsibilities during their absence.
- Support in managing personnel tasks, including interviews, promotions, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures.
- Provide guidance and direction to all store associates as necessary.
- Maintain store conditions to meet established standards consistently.
- Aid in developing weekly staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for business needs.
- Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure information is accurately relayed and expectations are clear.
- Welcome and assist customers, setting a standard of exemplary conduct for staff.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant legislation by all team members.
- Address customer complaints promptly, escalating issues as required.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
- Assist in managing inventory effectively.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of high school and relevant vocational or technical training.
- Proven service orientation.
- Minimum years of experience in the grocery sector.
- Previous supervisory experience in a retail or supermarket setting.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to train and motivate team members.
- Skills to monitor and evaluate staff performance.
- Basic office administration capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective teamwork abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed sense of diplomacy.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable health and safety regulations.
- Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
