Your Role:
We are currently looking for an Activities Attendant (Memory Care). In this position, you will play a vital role in assisting with the planning and execution of enjoyable and purposeful events, activities, and services that promote an active lifestyle among our residents. You will also help ensure that essential daily living activities are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, organize, and lead engaging programs for residents.
- Assist residents with transportation to and from activities as needed.
- Encourage residents to participate and stay active.
- Effectively promote activities and an active lifestyle within the community.
- Support the Fun Manager in planning and executing special events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with residents and their families to identify individual needs and enhance satisfaction.
- Track and document resident participation in activities.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory.
- Experience in healthcare or hospitality settings, with knowledge of activation programs and mobility challenges.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage diverse social services and events.
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly and disabled individuals, including those living with dementia.
- Valid Class G/Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (applicable to Ontario/Alberta).
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Current Safe Food Handler's certification.
- Relevant experience in recreation or equivalent certification.
All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. A Criminal Record Search, which may include a vulnerable sector screen, will be required as a condition of employment.
