About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team at Aecon, a leading Canadian infrastructure development company. As a Senior Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects by developing and maintaining complex construction and engineering resource-loaded schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring compliance with customer scheduling standards and protocols.
  • Create lookahead reports, resource profiles, and other customized P6 reports to support project planning and execution.
  • Liaise with construction teams to ensure scheduling sequencing and assist in determining schedule priorities.
  • Proactively identify schedule variances and logic gaps, and facilitate the development of recovery plans and other remedial action plans.
  • Enter daily and weekly progress into the schedule and provide progress status reports to stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed baseline or schedule change logs to ensure the integrity of the performance measurement baseline.
  • Perform critical path analysis to identify delays, near-critical paths, and parallel paths within the schedule.
  • Ensure schedule quality by addressing deficiencies from schedule quality analysis.
  • Support change management and risk management processes by analyzing trends and schedule impact assessments.
  • Manage the integration of subcontractor schedules, review for schedule quality, and assess progress.
  • Administer Aecon's P6 database, control access, and maintain data integrity.
  • Establish a cadence for importing back-up copies of project schedules managed in the client's P6 environment.
  • Participate in proposal and estimating efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and baselines.
  • Create and maintain project status update reports, forecast reports, and project dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain resource plans, ensuring cost and schedule alignment.
  • Conduct variance analysis to understand trends and other baseline deviations in support of rigorous change management.
  • Prepare Earned Value Management KPIs to assess project performance.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining tools and templates that ensure compliance with the processes outlined in the Project Controls plan and contract requirements.
  • Review contracts to ensure compliance with contract conditions regarding reporting, change management, and other Project Controls areas.
  • Participate in customer and internal management project status reporting meetings.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise to project teams on customized reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Assist in monitoring project health and performance, ensuring key performance metrics are well-articulated to project leadership.
  • Conduct detailed analysis on project performance key metrics and propose corrective actions to maintain performance and productivity.
