Job Title: Assistant Manager, Hotel

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Nova Scotia Ltd. o/a HI Dartmouth. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our hotel, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and that our hotel runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Hotel Manager in the overall management of the hotel, including supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring that all hotel operations are running smoothly.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent guest service.
  • Monitor and control hotel expenses, including labor costs, supplies, and maintenance.
  • Ensure that all hotel facilities and equipment are well-maintained and in good working order.
  • Address guest complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of special events and functions.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a hotel or hospitality management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and management principles.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment:

The Assistant Manager will work in a fast-paced hotel environment, interacting with guests, staff, and other hotel departments. The successful candidate will be able to work well in a team environment and will be able to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
