Job Title: Corporate Data Management Director

The Director of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plays a pivotal role in establishing and promoting a culture of excellence within our organization. Reporting to the VP of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), this position will be based in Calgary, Alberta, and provide a mix of tactical and strategic level HSE leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall leadership, support, guidance, and direction of all HSE strategies and programs.
  • Support and lead the development of a strong and integrated HSE functional team to support the growth of all SECURE Operations.
  • Champion a culture of HSE excellence at all levels of the organization, emphasizing best practices and standards.
  • Oversee the development of HSE priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies aligned with business objectives and consistent with SECURE HSE policies and programs.
  • Provide reporting, trending, and analysis on HSE performance.
  • Engage and communicate on HSE topics, such as performance, issues, opportunities, strengths metrics, etc.
  • Prepare HSE reports and communicate key information to senior leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation affecting company operations and promote excellence through policies, programs, and best practices.
  • Build a culture where safe behaviors are reinforced and at-risk behaviors are identified and challenged.
  • Oversee investigation of incidents and near misses while ensuring proper follow-up and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Oversee training, maintenance, and support of core HS management systems and programs.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of training programs to achieve HSE strategies and goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a Senior HSE role.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change required to improve HSE performance and results.
  • Proficiency in conducting analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Working knowledge of safety management systems and safe work practices.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in training and coaching staff.
  • Broad understanding of the HSE regulatory process and principles.
  • Strong incident investigation skills and emergency management expertise.
  • Ability to implement techniques that improve or encourage safe behaviors and actions.
  • Strong ability to build working relationships and contacts within the organization and with external regulators, vendors, and contractors.
  • Strong computer and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to travel to field location as required.
