Job Overview

JobContax is a prominent Irish construction firm specializing in a diverse range of projects including Commercial & Fit-Out, Civic, Educational, Conservation & Restoration, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical & Industrial, Tourism & Leisure, and Residential sectors. In this role, you will report directly to the Estimating Director and become part of a reputable main contractor dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and sustainability, recognized for delivering exceptional project outcomes.

This position offers the chance to take a leading role in preparing tender submissions for significant construction initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the tender bid team alongside the Technical and Project Coordination Departments to meticulously analyze project tender requirements, assess scope, evaluate costing needs, and interpret data in preparation for tender cost submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and interpret tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, and overall scope of work requirements.
  2. Develop in-house presentations for tender reviews.
  3. Conduct site visits to evaluate new projects as part of the tendering process.
  4. Prepare pricing packages for consultants, subcontractors, and materials utilizing the latest estimating software.
  5. Conduct cost analysis for consultants, subcontractors, and materials for comparative purposes.

Required Qualifications:

  1. A relevant diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related construction discipline.
  2. A minimum of 7 years of experience in Building Construction Estimating/Tendering with main contractors.
  3. Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and reports, with the ability to identify issues and risks.
  4. Strong communication skills coupled with a problem-solving mindset and innovative thinking.
