JobContax is seeking a **Lead Estimator** to join our dynamic team. We are a prominent **Construction Contractor** engaged in a variety of building projects across diverse sectors, including **Restoration, Hospitality, Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare**, and **Pharmaceutical**.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within the estimating team to create comprehensive and competitive tender submissions. A background in managing projects with values ranging from **€1m to €100m** is essential.
As a **Lead Estimator**, you will be responsible for overseeing a motivated team, delivering both **Design & Build** and **Traditional** tenders across a wide array of projects. You will present draft tender commercial appraisals for review and approval by senior management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tender documentation such as **Drawings, Specifications, BOQs,** and **Contracts** while managing the tender bid process from initial enquiry to final submission.
- Issuing material and trade inquiries to the supply chain and obtaining quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conducting analysis, evaluation, and risk assessments on supplier and subcontract packages, ensuring all inclusions and exclusions are checked.
- Advising on any concerns or value engineering opportunities identified during the tender analysis.
- Identifying commercial leverage opportunities within the tender documents.
- Assisting in the compilation of submissions that include inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and work programs.
- Liaising with senior management regarding ongoing project submissions.
Candidates should possess:
- A **third-level qualification** in **Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying**, or a related field.
- A minimum of **5 years of experience** within the Irish construction sector.
- A solid understanding of subcontractors, construction outputs, and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in data analysis methods.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to function effectively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills, with a focus on managing tender documentation and timely reporting.
- Competence in computer applications, particularly **Microsoft Excel**, and familiarity with estimating software such as **Causeway** or similar tools.
The salary range for this position is **€70K - €85K**, commensurate with experience, along with an excellent benefits package.
