Key Responsibilities of the Plant Manager:
- Oversee plant operations and asset management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Act as the primary representative for regulatory officials and auditors.
- Serve as the liaison with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, as well as community organizations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in operations, focusing on process optimization, environmental health and safety (EH&S) performance, cost reduction, personnel development, budgeting, and capital projects.
- Maintain adherence to all federal, provincial, and local regulations and company policies.
- Manage the implementation and upkeep of all EH&S programs and certification compliance.
- Ensure manufacturing processes, packaging, raw materials, and finished product inventories align with established guidelines while meeting customer service expectations.
- Develop and execute plant manufacturing expense and capital budgets.
- Introduce new process technologies at the facility.
- Implement quality assurance programs, including ISO registration and maintenance, as well as improvement plans and standardized best practices in quality control.
- Oversee the annual objective setting and performance appraisal process, including personnel development and training.
- Support the creation of a manufacturing strategic plan that aligns with commercial growth objectives from a production standpoint.
- Maintain site assets and optimize equipment lifecycle.
- Foster continuous improvement and standardization across the site in areas such as safety, productivity, cost efficiency, employee satisfaction, and quality.
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (preferably Engineering) is required, along with a minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience in a chemical production environment.
